Alignment Is the Real Secret: What I Learned About the Law of Attraction
At its core, the Law of Attraction is not about getting what you want. It’s about aligning with what you are ready to hold.
In 2006, Rhonda Byrne published The Secret, introducing the idea that we can manifest what we want through the Law of Attraction.
At the time, it sounded simple.
Think positively.
Visualize what you want.
And it will come.
But over the years—and especially through my own healing journey—I’ve come to understand it differently.
More accurately.
More honestly.
Because at its core, the Law of Attraction is not about getting what you want.
It’s about aligning with what you are ready to hold.
How It Actually Works
If I break it down in the simplest way:
Your thoughts create emotional states
Your emotions create your energetic frequency
Your frequency shapes how you perceive the world
Your perception influences your actions
Your actions shape your reality
So what you experience externally is not random.
It reflects your internal state—often unconsciously.
My Early Experience With Attraction
Looking back, I can see how this was already happening in my life.
There were times when I felt:
anxious
incomplete
uncertain about my worth
And during those times, I found myself in relationships that reflected that same energy.
Not because I consciously chose them.
But because I was aligned with them.
I was attracting from my state—not from my intention.
When I First Tried to “Manifest”
My first conscious experience with the Law of Attraction was around 2023, when I was introduced to the idea of polyamory.
At the time, I started thinking more intentionally about relationships.
What did I actually want?
Not just in theory—but in lived experience.
Clarifying My Desires
After a period of dating and exploring, I realized something important.
I needed clarity.
So I began asking myself deeper questions:
What am I really looking for?
What kind of connection do I want?
What kind of people do I want to share my life with?
And the answers became clearer.
I wanted:
intimacy
connection
affection
love
But also:
companionship in everyday life
shared experiences
people who aligned with me spiritually
People who would enjoy:
traveling together
going to movies or plays
exploring new restaurants
taking road trips
Letting Go of Control
Once I became clear on what I wanted, something shifted.
I stopped trying to control how it would happen.
I stopped chasing specific outcomes.
And in a way, I released it.
Not as a strategy—but as a natural result of clarity.
What Happened Next
About six months later, during a meditation, I had a moment of reflection.
And I realized something surprising.
The people I had been looking for…
Were already in my life.
I had met them through:
apps
social settings
shared spaces
They weren’t new.
I just hadn’t recognized them in that way before.
A Different Understanding of Attraction
That experience taught me something subtle but important.
Manifestation is not always about bringing something new into your life.
Sometimes it’s about recognizing what’s already there.
The Next Phase: Deeper Alignment
As I continued my journey—especially as I stepped into healing—I began to understand attraction on a deeper level.
Not just as intention.
But as alignment.
And one word became central to my understanding:
Coherence
What Is Coherence?
Coherence, in simple terms, is when different parts of you are aligned.
Not just mentally.
But physically.
Emotionally.
Energetically.
It’s when your system is not in conflict.
When your:
thoughts
feelings
body
and energy
are working together.
Working With the Body and Energy
In my healing practice, I began to explore alignment through the body.
Especially through the chakra system.
Not as a rigid structure—but as a way to understand flow.
There are centers within the body—and beyond the body—that relate to:
stability
emotion
expression
perception
connection
When these centers are out of sync, you can feel it.
As confusion.
As tension.
As inconsistency.
The Alignment That Changed Everything
One of the most impactful alignments I’ve experienced is between:
the heart
the throat
and the third eye
In practical terms, this means:
what you feel (heart)
what you express (throat)
and what you understand or perceive (third eye)
are in sync.
What Happens When They’re Not Aligned
When these are misaligned, you might experience:
saying things you don’t fully mean
feeling disconnected from your own truth
overthinking instead of sensing clearly
For example:
You might say you want a relationship…
But internally feel fear or doubt.
Or you might understand what you want…
But not express it honestly.
And when that happens, your actions become inconsistent.
What Happens When They Align
When these centers are aligned, something shifts.
Your communication becomes clearer.
Your decisions feel more grounded.
Your actions become more consistent.
For example:
You feel a genuine desire for connection
You express it openly and honestly
You recognize opportunities when they appear
And from that place, your actions naturally reflect your truth.
Why This Matters for Manifestation
This is where the Law of Attraction becomes real.
Not as a concept—but as a lived experience.
Because when you are coherent:
You don’t have to force outcomes.
You become aligned with them.
My Current Understanding
Today, I no longer see manifestation as something I “do.”
I see it as something that happens when I am aligned.
When I am:
grounded
present
emotionally aware
internally consistent
Life responds differently.
Not perfectly.
But more clearly.
Closing
If I could summarize everything I’ve learned about the Law of Attraction, it would be this:
You don’t attract what you want.
You attract what you are aligned with.
And alignment doesn’t come from thinking harder.
It comes from:
understanding yourself
processing what’s unresolved
and bringing your inner world into coherence
From there, what you seek begins to feel less like something you chase…
And more like something you meet.
If this resonates, I’d love to hear what alignment looks like in your life.

I find this article to be very accurate with my experiences as well. Thank you Bernard for sharing so others can see it too!
